Description
We depart from the Water Activity Marina by the Trident Hotel. Cruising out of the historic harbour of Kinsale, with the 17th century Charles Fort on your left and James Fort on your right, signalling your departure.
We pass the Old Head of Kinsale; a magnificent peninsula stretching five miles out into the Atlantic from the mainland; home of the prestigious Old Head Golf Links in to deeper waters, heading west towards the Galley Head.
As we Cruise around, keep a watchful eye out for the different whale species that visit out waters; such as humpback whale, minky whales and fin whales. Also a regular visitor to the West Cork Coastline is the mighty Basking Shark; the world’s second largest living shark.
Common Dolphins, Bottlenose Dolphins and harbour porpoises are resident in the waters around Kinsale all year. Sightings of Orca Killer Whales are rare, but have been seen in the past. You never know you could be lucky, don’t forget your camera!
